First time falling asleep on his own!

June 29
Here is a photo of Nikolas as he fell asleep on the play mat completely on his own! I was hoping this was a beginning of a new phase where I wouldn't have to carry him and sing him songs to help him fall asleep, but it turned out to be an isolated event :( It was very cute anyway!

My first taste of real food!

June 27th
While mommy and daddy were eating watermelon, Nikolas couldn't take his eyes off the wonderful juicy red stuff... after a while he started complaining and demanding some, too! It was hilarious. As soon as we brought a piece of watermelon close to him, he stretched his arms and tried to grab it and put it in his mouth with this look of anticipation and excitement. We carefully gave him a piece to lick, to his tremendous joy!

New friends

Last week we had a few new friends over for lunch: Audrey with Emma, Jyoti with Aagneya and Irene with Ruusa and Rauno. No little girl can go unnoticed by Nikolas, and he doesn't discriminate by age either!

Wedding in New Jersey

June 30th
We flew to New Jersey for Robb's cousin Brian's wedding. I'm glad that I didn't fly alone with Nikolas this time as he was a bit fussier than during his past 2 flights. He is teething, and this is the most painful period for him while the teeth are cutting through the gums to the surface. I can't keep track of how many bibs he soaks in a day with his drool! And he shoves fists and objects into his mouth so violently now that I worry he'll poke his eyes out by accident.

Anyway, we had a wonderful time in New Jersey. We were excited to finally meet little cousin Sean! Dave and Kim were there too, but without kids (someone got to party for real!).

Grandma and grandpa Moore couldn't wait to see Nikolas again, and Robb's uncle Steve also held him for a long time during the reception so Robb and I actually got to enjoy our dinner and dancing! We couldn't kick the habit though, to shove the food in our mouths as quickly as possible to be ready to pick up the baby when he cries for attention even when he wasn't there with us! Dancing helped against indigestion from eating too fast :)

On the way back to FL, Nikolas terrified the passengers around us by yelling REALLY loudly before the plane took off that everyone dreaded the flight... then he also let them witness the sound effects and the smell of the baby poop and gas, and just when it couldn't get any worse, the plane took off and Nikolas instantly fell sound asleep.

The fun of changing diapers

June 22nd
Changing diapers is a full project these days...if he is not playing with his feet, he is playing with the toys or kicking mom's arm to stop putting a diaper on him.

Little crawler

June 21st
I call this first crawling, although Nikolas calls it 'My head is stuck, someone please move me so I can look up!'
