We went to a couple of Easter egg hunts.
The first one was in Wendy's neighborhood. While the other kids were busy playing in the playground, Nikolas stood by the table with pretzels by himself--I thought it was hilarious as he looked like one of those adult guys whose wife/girlfriend brought him to a party where he didn''t know anyone so he just stood there by the bar or by food.
Later on we searched for eggs and that's where Nikolas took the job to heart, like he does with any job, and filled Landon's basket entirely. Luckily he had no idea that that eggs were filled with candy (he doesn't recognize candy yet.)
The next day we had another egg hunt at Veronica's place. By the time we got there, all the eggs were gone but we hang around to take pictures with the man dressed as a gigantic Easter bunny. Or at least I tried to get Nikolas close to the bunny... he got terrified of him! For weeks that followed he kept mentioning the big rabbit that scared him and from whom he ran away. This happened to be right in the middle of our potty training period, so of course, just as we got there, I noticed that Nikolas's pants and socks were wet. After a quick standing change of clothes we walked to Veronica's place where the boys did one more egg search.
Mommy, trying to persuade Nikolas to stand by the Easter bunny for a photo:
